Why you will love it?

L’Hôtel is not just the smallest 5 star hotel in Paris, it’s a landmark. Located between Saint Germain des Prés Church and the Seine River, on what was once the garden of a queen’s castle, L’Hôtel has a history that only very few hotels in the Paris have. Famous for being Oscar Wilde’s last residence, this charming hotel welcomes today’s biggest international stars. Enjoy! Parisianist

Business center: a computer with printer is available in the reception area

Some people might think that the story of l’Hôtel starts with Oscar Wilde, but in reality, it goes way back… 400 years back, in 1606, when Queen Margot of France decided to build a palace next to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés abbey, her passion for art and books attracting a lot of artists, poets and philosophers. The present building was erected in 1827 on former gardens of the palace and was turned into a hotel 2 years later. From l’Hôtel d’Allemagne to Hotel d’Alsace and finally called l’Hôtel, it has welcomed some of the most famous personalities over the decades, such as French music icon Serge Gainsbourg, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jim Morrison and many of today’s international stars.

Parisianist Fun Fact: Jim Morrison sadly felt the desire to commit suicide while he was staying at l’Hôtel. His suicide attempt failed though, as he jumped out of his room’s window (on the first floor) only to fall on a parked car…
