Our Insiders' Article

Hotel Baume is a six-story building composed of 35 rooms. There are several varieties of rooms, ranging from classic rooms to the suites like the Duplex or l’Unique (“the unique”).  The six decoration themes (perfume, fashion, jewelry, film, architecture, and clubs of the 1930s) are found on each floor of the Hotel Baume. As you ascend to the top of the building, you will see that each floor has a unique, hand-picked and elegant photography illustrating one of the 6 themes.

The price of a classic room is on average €350 depending on the season, and has a surface area between 14m² and 16m² (151 sqft and 172 sqft). There are two adjustable rooms (with a foldable bed) that can function as meeting rooms. The suite L’Unique is composed of a room of 14m² (151 sqft) and a winter garden of 20 m² (215 sqft).

All of the rooms are equipped with modern comfort (desk, safe, high-speed internet) and offers a view of either the charming interior courtyard or the Odéon Theatre.

Hotel Baume serves breakfast in a room reserved for this purpose, and in good weather, it is also served on the patio in the interior courtyard. In terms of lunch and dinner, there are a lot of recommended restaurants in the neighborhood that suite any budget.

There is no mini bar in the room as the hotel prefers to opt for the Honesty Bar. Drinks may be consumed in your room or in the lobby.

For sport-lovers, the Luxembourg Garden is only a stone’s throw away from the hotel and is a great place to go jogging.

24 hour concierge service is available in the hotel lobby.

The Saint Germain (lien) neighborhood has everything a visitor could ask for: very Parisian boutiques, delicious macarons pastry shops, art galleries and antique shops, and iconic restaurants and cafés like Le Flore and Les Deux Magots, not to mention the monuments such as Notre Dame Cathedral, the Pantheon, and the Saint Sulpice and Saint Germain des Prés churches.

Hotel Baume’s history is told through a fictive story about 6 very different characters whose paths happen to cross. These characters are Suzanne, Charles, Henri, Claudine, Odette and Serge. On every floor is a portrait of one of the characters, each of which can be associated to one of the hotel’s six decorative themes. As far as the name is concerned, Hotel Baume honors the Austrian novelist Vicki Baum who, after having published several works in the 30s, wound up writing screenplays in Hollywood.
