Our Insiders' Article

Traditional

Founded in 1972, this crepe restaurant is located in the heart of the historic Breton district of Paris: Montparnasse. The menu, as well as the décor, are typically from Brittany, the region in the far western tip of France. The ingredients used come directly from local Breton producers. This makes it the most traditional crepe restaurant in Paris.

Where: 47 rue du Montparnasse, 75014 / + 33 1 42 79 90 63 / noon to midnight everyday / www.creperie-plougastel.com

Craziest

Yes, as surprising as it may seem, this is a real crêpe restaurant. In the craziest décor, this Japanese crepe restaurant offers classic crepes as well as some very daring and unusual creations. Unfortunately, the restaurant is quite small and it is really difficult to be seated. People generally order takeout food, but it is definitely worth a visit.

Where: 3 Rue des Ecouffes, 75004 Paris / +33 1 43 43 57 97 / 1pm to 7 pm. Closed on Mondays and Thursdays

International

The great thing about Breizh Café is that not only is it a great crepe restaurant in Paris, but it is also a great crepe restaurant in Brittany and in Tokyo! There is no secret for this international succès: it’s all about the quality and taste. Here, you won’t find any fancy decoration or crazy creations, just the good old great tasting traditional crêpe.

Where: 109 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75003 / +33 1 42 72 13 77 / 11:30am to 11pm, closed on Monday and Tuesday / breizhcafe.com

Situation

It’s difficult to beat a great crêpe dinner and have some of the trendiest bars and clubs in Paris just a stones’ throw away. La Crêpitante is located in the lively Oberkampf area, where a lot of fun takes place once the sun sets. And to top it off, the prices are really attractive, making it the best crêperie for the party animals!

Where: 63 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011 / +33 1 43 14 47 28 / 12pm to 2:30pm and 7:30pm to 11pm, closed on Sundays and Mondays / lacrepitante.fr

Chic

In a modern, bright and very design surrounding in the Daumesnil area (which is a bit away from the city center though), Paris Breizh manages to combine both chic and cozy. And don’t start thinking that chic equals expensive, because it’s clearly not the case!

Where: 177 Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 /  +33 1 43 45 16 10 / 12pm to 2:30pm and 7pm to 11:30pm, closed on Sundays / www.creperieparisbreizh.fr
