Our Insiders' Article

Monsieur Bleu (“Mister Blue”) is located in the new wing of the Palais de Tokyo, one of the most famous modern art museums in Paris, right beside the Seine River and across from the Eiffel Tower. Because of its location, Monsieur Bleu is not just a good restaurant, it is a space for artistic experimentation, offering a lively yet also very intimate ambiance. Created by 3 childhood friends who have already proved to be masters in the food, beverage and nightlife world, Monsieur Bleu is truly one of the trendiest restaurants in the 16th Arrondissement.

The challenge was to adapt the cuisine of Monsieur Bleu to the overall spirit of the Palais de Tokyo. And what better chef than Benjamin Masson to accept this challenge today? Since its opening, several chefs have brought their knowledge and expertise in French cuisine, but have mixed it with elements of international cuisine, therefore bringing innovative dishes to the table. The food is not overly priced, taking into consideration the location and the view, and evolves as seasons go by. Seasonality is very important, both for the ingredients, but also for the clientele, as the appetites change with the seasons.

Monsieur Bleu was created as “a place to find oneself early in the evening, a place of exchange and of culinary delights”, and that is what it truly is. There are no fixed rules here, and people are free to do what they feel like doing. Whether it’s for a heavy meal or just something to nibble, a night out with friends or a romantic date, Monsieur Bleu caters to just about every desire. Chic but laid back, the ambiance is friendly and welcoming, with an open-minded spirit.

Being in the Palais de Tokyo, there was no way Monsieur Bleu could offer a simple décor. It had to be trendy, modern and elegant. Designed by architect Joseph Dirand, the décor is both cosmopolitan and international. The differentiating factor with other elegant and fashionable restaurants is the 600m² terrace, which can welcome 200 people and offers a magnificent view on the Eiffel Tower on the other side of the Seine River

The 16th arrondissement is considered as a quiet neighborhood in Paris, where not a lot of things happen. Yet there are some exceptions and Monsieur Bleu is probably the leader of the pack. With an elegant setting and great cuisine, without falling into the snobby or the overpriced poor dinner trap, Monsieur Bleu is perfect for a friendly gathering or an intimate romantic dinner if you are in the neighborhood.
