Our Insiders' Article

Franklin, the friendly owner of Eggs & Co, had had enough of the music industry. He had always wanted to open a restaurant, yet never had the experience. But that did not stop him from creating Coco&Co in 2007 and later changing the name to Eggs & Co. For him, it was a way to get back to his childhood, the time when he used to get the eggs in the henhouse at his grandmother’s house. With determination, will and passion, Franklin has hoisted his small restaurant into an international reference when it comes to eggs.

Parisianist Fun Fact: a picture of Owen Wilson hangs behind the counter, but he is not the only international star that has tasted the Eggs & Co specialties.

Let’s get one thing straight: the eggs here are as fresh as can be and delivered 4 days after the eggs are laid. Depending on the type of dish, eggs will be immediately used or stored for another 4 more days. Trust an egg specialist: you don’t use the same eggs for the same dishes! The best sellers are the Oeufs Bénédictine (Benedictine Eggs) and the Omelette. Don’t miss the delicious pancakes for desert! The average price is 20€ for a meal here.

Parisianist Fun Fact: Oeufs Mayonnaise (Eggs and mayo) is a classic French starter served in many traditional restaurants. Yet although it appears on Eggs&Co’s menu, only 15 of them have been ordered since 2007!

You won’t find any alcohol at Eggs & Co. With your food, you have a choice of soft drinks but we recommend going for the freshly squeezed fruit juice. Their supplier also supplies the President of France! And at Eggs & Co, there is a real coffee culture, as owner Franklin has invested in quite a machine to make a delicious coffee.

Would it be surprising to know that the decoration of Eggs & Co is exclusively focused on chicken and eggs? From the salt and pepper containers to the many items hanging on the wall, everything is just chicken and eggs! But the best part is the fake henhouse at the back of the restaurant, a place we recommend you try to sit next to in order to have the best experience. This very low space could not be used for clients, so instead of closing it, the owner decided to create a fake henhouse.

Eggs & Co opens at 10am every day, and a lot of foreigners come to have a late breakfast or an early lunch here. The ambiance is therefore cozy, friendly, casual and very international. Clients are always welcomed with a smile.  The easy listening music in the back also adds a certain warmth to the restaurant. The restaurant is never empty, but tends to get crowded at lunch time.

Parisianist Tip: On Sundays though, the restaurant is packed the whole day, so you might want to get there early!

A foreign couple travelled to the far corners of the world and have tried the eggs in all the countries they have visited. The eggs that they ate at Eggs & Co were close to the 1000th eggs they had enjoyed throughout their trip yet Eggs & Co was elected as part of the Top 5 egg restaurant the couple had enjoyed the most. So if you too want to experience your morning or lunch eggs like nowhere else, just get into that narrow street, look for the chicken decoration and step inside! A feast awaits.
