Our Insiders' Article

"De-codify” cafés, making it more accessible and open to creativity. That was Leonid Goncharov’s idea. This young Ukrainian entrepreneur managed to set up a new type of space, ideal for exchanges and meetings. Open from 9am to 11pm, the first Anticafé opened its doors in March 2013 next to the Centre Georges Pompidou to promote community and collaborative spirit in a perfectly designed space.

Three types of rates are available: an hour costs €4 and each following hour costs €3... One thing is for sure, a full day will not cost you more than 14 €. For the addicts, a monthly fee of € 200 is available. Everything else is free: on the counter, you will find all sorts of coffees, teas, soft drinks, sweets and savory snacks which can be enjoyed all day long!

A special card is given when entering the premises, which will record the time spent in the café. You then pay the time consumed when exiting Anticafé. Inside, whether it’s for co-working or just to share a coffee with friends, moods vary according to the time of day and the people who enter. The environment is perfect for creation, leisure and work. And for the utmost comfort of the clientele, the waiters are always discrete and effective. There is no denying that at Anticafé, a sense of community creates a friendly atmosphere.

Once inside Anticafé, many things are available: digital equipment, wifi, games and even a small library. Between the intimate business meetings during breakfast and the large afternoon community meetings, the flexible spaces suits all expectations; a studious corner with large wooden tables, a comfort corner with padded gray sofas, the day’s newspapers at the entrance and a workgroup environment in the basement. Important detail: there are many electrical outlets.

Parisianist Fun Fact: Two boards hang on the walls with "classified ads" such as French courses, sofa on sale or learn Russian.

What should be remembered is that Anticafé is more than just a café. It is a gathering of open-minded people and a place offering many opportunities to meet and exchange on projects and ideas. Anticafé is therefore one of the best places combining the ambiance of a co-working space and a cozy and friendly café.
