Why you will love it?

With a creative raw décor, low prices and tongue-in-cheek offerings – original cocktails and shot-and-beer pairings–, a party crowd packs onto the tiny dance floor to bump and grind to the loud music on busy nights. Enjoy! Parisianist.

Our Insiders' Article

Located in the heart of the vibrant lower Pigalle area, Glass opened in 2012 and has become one of our favorite spots when it comes to cocktails and ambiance. This small and cozy bar, open until dawn on busy nights, is all about fun, freshness and friendliness. The welcoming international staff will gladly serve their original cocktails, beer or boilermakers (shots followed by beer) and let you fully enjoy your night without any snobbism or contempt.

One of the highlights of Glass is the cocktails. Not only are they excellent, but they are made with the freshest ingredients. You won’t find any strawberry based cocktails here in winter for example, as the people behind Glass strictly follow seasonality in order to preserve the best quality possible. All juices and mixes are home made every day for the consumer’s delight.

Some bars talk about freshness, but have a static year round menu. How ironic! That’s definitely not the case at Glass. When you think fresh, you have to think change: the menu at Glass changes almost every 2 months. Christina, the bar manager and cocktail connoisseur, will create new cocktails and submit them to a strict jury in order to guarantee the best to the clients. She will cater to the international and local clientele with different formulas: improved versions of cocktail classics, such as Manhattan or Old Fashioned, for the American crowd, and fruitier / sweeter mixes for the French crowd (no mojito or caïpirinha here though, too classic!).

With an international team and clientele, it comes as no surprise to see a wide selection of international drinks, especially beers and liquors. Glass offers some of the best bottled beers this world has to offer, some even coming with great sounding names like Brewdog Thrashy Blonde. The same goes for the alcohol bottles, with liquors coming from the 4 corners of the world. And what better way to enjoy the best of both worlds than going for a boilermaker, a perfect pairing of beer and liquor selected by the staff in the know.

In the queue outside Glass, the people look great and behave. But once inside, let the fun begin. “Don’t behave, just be yourself” is the type of ambiance that the Glass team is looking for and what makes this bar truly special. Although more laid back on week nights, the bar turns into a small nightclub on busy weekend nights, where the people get crazy and hit the small dance floor as the rock music is cranked up to 10. Should the dance floor be too crowded, the management won’t mind people dancing on the tables and chairs! And should it get too hot in the bar, you might want to cool yourself by removing a layer of clothes and heat up the ambiance, but stay cool though and don’t go too far!

Feel like getting something to eat after hours of partying and savouring the delicious cocktails? Glass offers great American hot-dogs made, once more, with the finest and freshest ingredients: the bread is from bakery extraordinaire Emperor Norton and the beef is 100% organic. Or why not go for the mouth watering pickles instead?

Pigalle has always been an animated area in Paris. Although it still is considered as the red light district of the French capital, most hostess bars have closed and made way to trendy bars and clubs. Although Glass has still kept the former discreet outer façade (small door, dark windows), you won’t be finding red Swede couches here anymore!  It’s minimalist décor for maximized fun. Having a flair for success, the 3 owners of Candelaria couldn’t miss opening an up-beat trendy cocktail bar in this new utmost trendy area.

Christina, the German born manager of Glass, has been working in bars for more than 14 years, and after having spent several years in Berlin, she decided to come to Paris. With an extensive knowledge in mixology (she started reading Mixology Magazine when she was young and loved experimenting with different ingredients found in her region), she has now become a “liquid chef”, still encouraged to create new savoury cocktail mixes on a regular basis.

Glass is one of the only bars open after 2AM, so on a busy weekend night, don’t be surprised if more people come at 2PM. You might even bump into the staff of other Pigalle-area bars as they all end up partying here! So whether it’s the fresh and exotic cocktails, the wide selection of beers and liquors, or simply the snobbism-free “be yourself” ambiance, once you are inside, an excellent time is guaranteed.
